‘Lokah: Chapter One – Chandra’ was a great Letterboxd recommendation

A bunch of people I follow on Letterboxd were raving about Lokah: Chapter One – Chandra, a new Malayalam film that serves as the start of a supernatural cinematic universe.

I had the chance to see it and I totally understand what all the hype is about.

Here’s my quick review on Instagram…

It’s Big Indian Movie Release Weekend

Two movies I was really looking forward to were released this weekend, and I had the chance to see/review both.

First up was War 2, the latest in the YRF Spy Universe.

My full review is on Trashwire here, or check out the YouTube review below.

Next was Coolie, which was one of my most anticipated movies of the year. But did it live up to the hype?

Here’s what I had to say about it on Trashwire or check out the video review on YouTube below.

So many new movie reviews, so little time

I saw the new Ghostbusters movie Frozen Empire and reviewed it for Trashwire. I compared it to mac and cheese because it’s fine and kids like it, but it’s the kind of generic meal you just don’t want to eat every day. You can check out the full review here.

Next up, I checked out the new indie horror Late Night With the Devil, which I liked a lot—aside from the AI art controversy.

Then I took a little trip to the MonsterVerse with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which was big, stupid nonsense…and I really enjoyed it!

I also watched a few smaller movies that I liked a lot.

First up was Frida, the new documentary about Frida Kahlo.

Then I also checked out Shayda, a really great indie that made me want to go spend time with my mom.
