The great redesign project

March 14, 2017March 15, 2017Leave a comment

It’s been way too long since I last updated this blog (almost 5 years!) and I felt like it was time to revamp my entire site. I’ve been working on completely redesigning everything with an awesome new theme and a bunch of new sections, including an area to showcase my Procreate brushes. Basically, this blog will now serve primarily as a sort of portfolio and a place to display projects I’m working on, which means a lot of iPad lettering, since that’s my new obsession. I’m also going to link to new reviews I write for Trashwire, and any interesting news I might have about Optimum Social.

Here’s my work in progress on the new design.

And here’s a glimpse at the old theme.

The new one adds a ton of functionality, which isn’t surprising considering it’s been half a decade since I changed themes! The nice thing about WordPress is that it’s always evolving and there’s always some amazing new feature that takes your site to the next level. I figured it was well past time to start utilizing some of those new features.

The whole internet is thirsty for Alexander Skarsgård as Olivia Colman’s wicker basket husband in Wicker, but does the movie live up to all the memes? “Why would I deceive you?” A braided and buff Nani leads Srikanth Odela’s new Telugu film, The Paradise, as the savior of a marginalized community trying to fight for their identity. Adapting a video game to a feature film is difficult because game mechanics like puzzle solving and resource management are exciting and challenging when you’re holding the controller, but hard to translate on screen. Na Hong-jin’s Hope might be one of the craziest films you see this year. A greedy corporation with an unregulated monopoly relentlessly pursues profits at the expense of the public good. That’s not just the fictional Acme corporation in Coyote vs. Acme, it’s also the story of the film itself, which has finally hit theaters after a multi-year battle. Shiva Nirvana’s Irumudi marks a cinematic redemption for Ravi Teja, reminding audiences that he’s one of the most versatile actors in the Telugu film industry. Lokesh Kanagaraj makes his acting debut in Arun Matheswaran’s stylish new Tamil film DC, which gives us a fresh take on Devdas meets Bonnie and Clyde. Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi light up the screen together as Das and Chandra in a story with gritty violence and intimate emotion, conveyed through striking cinematography from Mukesh G and some of Anirudh Ravichander’s best music to date. Can Spider-Man: Brand New Day finally reset the MCU? 🕷️
