So many new movie reviews, so little time

I saw the new Ghostbusters movie Frozen Empire and reviewed it for Trashwire. I compared it to mac and cheese because it’s fine and kids like it, but it’s the kind of generic meal you just don’t want to eat every day. You can check out the full review here.

Next up, I checked out the new indie horror Late Night With the Devil, which I liked a lot—aside from the AI art controversy.

Then I took a little trip to the MonsterVerse with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, which was big, stupid nonsense…and I really enjoyed it!

I also watched a few smaller movies that I liked a lot.

First up was Frida, the new documentary about Frida Kahlo.

Then I also checked out Shayda, a really great indie that made me want to go spend time with my mom.

Three new quick movie reviews

I recently reviewed three new movies and I have several more coming soon.

First up, we have Next Goal Wins, which I didn’t expect to like because I’m feeling major Taika Wiaiti burnout.

Next is Biosphere which is a small and incredibly efficient movie. The whole thing is basically two guys in a room talking, but it goes in some pretty wild directions.

And finally, we have Saltburn which I freaking loved. It’s dark, twisted, disturbing, and I was hooked right from the start.

As always you can find more of my quick reviews on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Trashwire.

Past Lives is just beautiful

I had heard good things about Past Lives, but it was even better than I’d hoped. Such impactful use of silence and lingering shots! This movie is going to stick with me for a while.

A few quick movie recommendations

I’ve been posting short movie recommendations over on Instagram and TikTok and you should check them out if you’re looking for something good to watch.

First up, we have Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead

@trashwire

This movie has themes of friendship, work-life balace, and a zombie shark with legs. What more could you want? 🧟‍♂️🦈🦵 #zom100 #zom100netflix #zombieshark

Next is Broker, which was one of my favorite movies of 2022

Then we have Netflix’s painfully generic Heart of Stone

Then I checked out the Jennifer Lawrence comedy No Hard Feelings

And finally, I had the chance to see one of my all-time faves, Cannibal! The Musical, on the big screen for the first time and I had to make a little video about that too

You can also find all these videos over on the Trashwire youtube channel in the quick reviews playlist.
