I got a really cute cat and you can get one too

I was inspired by a story in Westword about Denver’s feral cat problem and ended up adopting a super sweet little kitten from Denver Municipal Animal Shelter, the pound where animal control takes the strays they catch. I’ve also heard great things about MaxFund Animal Shelter and my mom has two awesome cats from Boulder Humane Society. If you have room in your life (and your house) to adopt a cat, there are tons of them looking for homes.

I just wanted to post a blog with links to the three other cats I strongly considered adopting before I got Macho. They were all at Denver Municipal Animal shelter, and all extremely sweet and affectionate. If you’re in Denver and looking for a new furry friend to love, these guys are great choices.

At first, we thought she had black and white spots all over like a cow, but only her ears and tail are black. The rest of her is white. She’s really sweet and affectionate; she was purring up a storm when we were petting her. She’s only 2 so she’s also playful and energetic. If you’re looking for a slightly older cat that’s just as sweet and goofy as a kitten, she’s a great choice.

She’s a little older, so she’s more mellow than a kitten and she’s a pretty big girl. If she was a human, she’s be considered “husky” or “plus-sized”. Her fur’s really soft and she seems like she’d cuddle with you and be really chilled out and affectionate. Her makings are really pretty too.

http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=15102243?rvp=1I saw a lot of gold cats in my many trips to shelters, but this guy was quite the gentleman. Aside from being super affectionate and loving, he was also very friendly and seemed to love people. He’s also talkative and often meows when you look at him or say something to him in a high pitched voice. Adorable! He’s got a small frame and reminds me of one of my mom’s cats. If you’re looking for a classy gentleman to bring home, he’s your guy.
