I was less than thrilled with the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones, and I’m definitely not alone. So I wrote a little something about a few small changes that would have greatly improved “The Bells”. Check it out on Trashwire.

April’s featured free brush is Copy Cat
This month’s featured freebie is one of my most popular brushes, Copy Cat. It was one of the first brushes I made way back when I first started experimenting with brush creation in Procreate. Copy Cat is like Shady Lady, but with a cool texture that gives it a chalk or pencil feel. Download it for free here.
Check out some great letterers on Instagram who have used the brush below:
I tried Abbie’s destroyed photo tutorial and it’s great
Chances are, if you have an iPad and you use Procreate, you’ve watched at least one tutorial by Abbie from Uproot. Not only is she an insanely talented artist, but she’s also one of the most creative people in the iPad art game right now and she’s practically a scholar in Procreate. Her tutorials make everything so easy to understand and try out yourself, so I was pretty excited when I finally had time to try her destroyed look tutorial. I played around with the method for a couple of profile pic ideas last night while watching TV and this was the one I liked the most.
Give it a try for yourself with the tutorial below and see if you get as into it as I did.
February Featured Freebie: Painted Heart Brush
This month’s featured freebie is Painted Heart. It’s a stamp-style brush with an organic texture like it was painted with a paintbrush. It will make a scattering of hearts of different sizes, but you can also adjust the size with the slider and add individual hearts with a tap. It will work with the Apple Pencil or use it without a stylus and just tap with your finger. Download it free here. As always, I’d love to see what you create, so if you use the brush, tag @AlexisGentry on Instagram so I can check out your cool artwork.
Featured Freebie: Scripty Flourish Procreate Lettering Brush
One of my goals this year is to provide more free stuff to people who visit this blog. I thought I’d start by highlighting some of my favorite free brushes to make them easier to find. This month’s featured freebie is my Scripty Flourish brush. You can download it here. If you use it, I’d love to see your awesome work, so tag @AlexisGentry on Instagram.
