New kitten = total chaos

Two nights ago, my cousin brought me a tiny kitten he’d got as a gift from his girlfriend but wasn’t able to keep. It’s still too young to tell for sure if it’s a boy or a girl, but we think it’s a boy. It’s super cute. Seriously. It’s incredibly cute!

Though the kitten looks like a sweet little baby, every night it acts more like a tiny terrorist. I’ve had kittens before, but never this young. It’s literally like having an infant. He wakes up at all hours and screams for food or something else, even when there’s food in his bowl. He’s just learning how to use his litterbox and has already had a few accidents. The other day, he missed the box and ended up making a mess of himself. I had to wash him off in the sink. For anyone who’s ever tried to wash a cat, you know it can be a pretty crazy experience. Thankfully, he’s little and his claws don’t really hurt you yet. I’ve gone through a bunch of names, but, after getting to know him, I think I might call him Drama.

Despite his crazy behavior, I really love him. He’s just too cute not to love. He’s really into being on my shoulder when I talk on the phone and it’s so cute when he climbs up there and perches himself against the phone like he’s trying to have a conversation. Plus, he’s tiny! His entire body fits in the palm of your hand and he’s all skinny and bony, which will definitely change now that he’s at my house.

Anyway, the point of all this is that I haven’t had a lot of sleep lately and I’ve been too busy to write anything new for Trashwire or YourHub. I even ditched work at the Film Commission yesterday because I was ready to pass out after only getting 3 hours of sleep the night before.

Here’s what’s been happening when I try to get any work done:

I’m going to try to work on some reviews in the future and I’m seeing the Kathy Griffin show at the Temple Buell on Friday. Hopefully I’ll have something to write about that.

Well, enough making excuses for now.
