Introducing Prime Meridian

Prime Meridian hand-lettered font

I spent the whole weekend putting the finishing touches on a brand new font and now it’s finally ready to make its debut. I call it Prime Meridian because the Os and Gs kind of reminded me of a globe. It comes with capital letters only, but also includes numbers and some basic punctuation and symbols. I plan to install it on the Over app on my iPad and use it for creating Instagram posts, but it has all sorts of fun potential uses.

Pick it up on Creative Market or Etsy and tag @AlexisGentry in your creations so I can see the cool stuff you make!

Say hello to Sugar Babe, my new font

I’ve just released another font! It feels like it’s been ages since I created a new one, but that’s mostly just because creating a font takes a zillion times longer than creating a brush. This one is called Sugar Babe, named after a nickname for my 14-year-old cat Lil Thang. She was heavily involved in this project, sitting on my lap during testing in Glyphs, trying to tap the Apple Pencil out of my hand while I was cleaning it up on my iPad and eventually just sitting on my computer so I couldn’t use it. Classic cat stuff.

Break Up Letter – my latest handmade font

I just released a new font! This one is called Break Up Letter and it’s a handwritten style that I developed using my iPad Pro. It’s the first font that I’ve ever released that comes in bold, italic, and bold + italic versions. It includes uppercase and lowercase as well as numbers and punctuation. The zip file you get when you purchase it also contains WOFF webfont versions, so you can embed it on your website.

Moonwalk font available now

I’ve worked on several fonts since taking Teela’s amazing font making class. The very first one I released, Sweet Revenge, got its name from one of my favorite albums, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge. You can pick it up on Creative Market in OTF, TTF and webfont versions or get the OTF version on Etsy.

When I finally finished my second font and realized the texture looked like moon rocks, I knew immediately what I wanted to call it. It’s no secret that I’m a gigantic Michael Jackson fan and keeping in line with the musically-inspired names, I present to you (drumroll please) Moonwalk.

You can download Moonwalk from Creative Market or Etsy right now. If you use it, I’d love to see your work so tag me on Instagram so I can check it out.
