Creepy singing bust of Elvis

November 22nd, 2009 by Alexis

I saw this on the floor at Ross yesterday and was completely perplexed/creeped out by it. I snapped an iPhone pic, uploaded it to twitpic and thought nothing of it. Then today, I discovered this video of the weird Elvis robot, which makes it exponentially weirder and more creepy.

Photos from the Suns game

January 16th, 2009 by Alexis

Here’s a few pictures from the Suns/Nuggets game at the Pepsi center last night.

It was one of the first really exciting games I’ve seen in a while, which might not be saying much because I hardly ever watch sports. The dudes were playing their asses off and it even went into overtime. It was a late game anyway, so this meant it wouldn’t end until after midnight. Despite how tired I was, I really enjoyed it and it brought me back to the old days when I had the NBA League Pass for DirecTV and watched every Clippers game.

Afterward, me and my peeps (AKA my mom, my good friend Dave and my boss Neil from DFS) went back to say hello to the guys. Everyone we saw from both the Nuggets and the Suns was very friendly and cool, but the highlight for me was definitely Grant Hill.

I’ve known him since I was a kid and my dad was an Assistant (and later Head Coach) of the Pistons. Of all the NBA players I’ve ever met, he is definitely the coolest. He’s like the quintessential role model for how NBA players should be. He’s smart; he’s friendly and polite; he’s charismatic and personable, just an all-around great dude.

After we said goodbye to my dad, I headed home and got about 3 hours of sleep before heading off to work this morning. Needless to say, I’m pretty worn out today. Still, it was one of the funnest nights since the Festival and totally worth chugging Pepsi Max to stay awake the next day.

Red Carpet coverage from Opening Night at SDFF

December 23rd, 2008 by Alexis

I was browsing my Google Alerts at work today and I saw this video from Eden Lane of Colorado Outspoken. Eden was one of the fantastic members of the press on the the Red Carpet for our Opening Night presentation of The Brothers Bloom at the Starz Denver Film Festival this past November.

If you look closely, you can see me and my friend (and fellow publicist) Rachael in the background working the carpet and walking filmmakers to their interviews. Check it out for sure!

Check out my pics from the festival after the jump…

I did a Google Image search for “weirdest thing ever” and I must admit, Google came up with some real gems. Here’s a few.

Ghost of Elvis… on the moon!

December 5th, 2008 by Alexis

I have been idly browsing the internet for hours today and I’ve just arrived at the point where your brain seems to switch off, which also happens to be the perfect time for a great discovery like this image from ghost-pictures.com.

Yeah, that’s right. The team of “ghost hunters” at this site claim to offer “ghosts where other ghost hunters can only find dirty washing!” When I saw this image of Elvis Presley’s ghost on the moon, I simply had to share with the world.

I never thought the day would come when I would get to use the words Elvis, ghosts, and moon in the same sentence.
