Whenever I think reality tv has hit rock bottom, something new comes on that takes it to an all new low.
The latest contender is Rock of Love Bus on VH1. The show follows Bret Michaels (who used to be known for being the lead singer of Poison but is now a puffy, middle aged reality star) and the gaggle of skanks vying for his affection, or at least a little tv time. Instead of the usual tacky mansion, this time the whole gang will be living out of buses as they follow Michaels around the country during his tour.
Here’s a few clips of Vanilla Ice performing “Ice Ice Baby” live at the Pepsi Center during halftime at the Denver Nuggets game tonight. Totally the highlight of my week!
While he was on stage, I flashed back to myself as a kid in the early 90s dancing to this song and thinking he was so hot. Then I flash back to myself just a few years ago watching Rob Van Winkle on The Surreal Life and absolutely loving it. Usually anyone on celebreality tv proves their lameness, but he was one of very few celebrities who actually end up looking better after a reality show.
Just got home from the Nuggets game. It was 80s night and they had a very special guest for the halftime show…. none other than Mr. Rob Van Winkle or, as you might know him, Vanilla Ice.
Here’s a quick clip I got of him performing Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music”
