After all the weird references to Rock of Love these days, I decided to share my own VH1 reality/dating show reference with the world.

For a little while now, I’ve been using the term “boat date” to describe a situation where I feel I’m getting screwed over. The term comes from VH1 reality shows like Rock of Love or when the contestant who goes home typically gets a date involving a boat.

The other day I added the term to Urban Dictionary, along with a quick description and some examples.

Since I talked about it so much, I thought I’d post these videos I found on YouTube of the My Chemical Romance concert in Denver 4/14/08. I was in the front and couldn’t sneak a camera, but apparently people in the back got some decent footage.

It’s hard for me to write a review of a My Chemical Romance show without filling it with hyperbole and grand statements about how they are the greatest band ever. After seeing them last March at Magness Arena during their giant tour supporting The Black Parade, I was beyond excited to get another chance to bathe in the awesomeness of MCR.
